Mental
health needs community support.
AMH
works to elevate awareness of mental health through special events
and activities. Some projects are one-time only and are sponsored
by the COFAMH – the Coalition for the Advancement of Mental
Health —a collaboration among many mental health groups such as
the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill-North Country, Voices
of the Heart, Liberty House and the Behavioral Health of the Glens
Falls Hospital.
Other activities are scheduled annually to raise funds for existing
programs in addition to awareness. Building the best event requires
corporate partnerships.
Through annual underwriting companies and AMH can plan more efficiently
and effectively. Continuity of support enhances community awareness
and connection to mental health activities …….and the companies
who support them.
AMH Web Page- Join us here on the internet. Our site was
designed and is managed by an outside agency and includes information
about us and others in our community who care about mental health.

Television Specials- In the past, AMH has addressed important
mental health topics on our local station, TV8. Television shows
are 60 to 90 minutes and are broadcast four times in a ten day
period. The most recent 90-minute show, “Mental Illness—Bringing
it into the Light—A Discussion on Stigma”, was moderated by
Assemblywoman Elizabeth Little and was a mix of videotapes and
in-studio guests.
AMH
Annual Dinner- Held during Mental Health Month in May, this
event is attended by AMH staff, clients, members and mental health
professionals. It features speakers, award presentations to people
and businesses within and outside of the field who have positively
influenced mental health and a silent art auction with art and
photography created by East Side Center.
Summer Cruise- Held the first Thursday in August, mental health
supporters set sail aboard a Lake George Cruise ship to enjoy
two hours of live music, fireworks and light snacks.
